A Full Quarter
‘At times life is full of promise, and joy springs up for brief moments, at others it seems to offer more than it can satisfy. Its reasons can be illusive, as it is seen but never grasped. So, we move on to a new love: travel, experience, food, art, clothes, friends, work: a new love.
As we consume life, lost in a sea of choice we swim, feeling a false full, immersed in overwhelming option. Always craving but never fully satisfying.’
An object by Elizabeth Willing and Iain Sams.
Working with a Brisbane Architectural Firm - Jamin Design Group, I designed a bench seat for their new office fit out. A subtle reference to the companies logo with an arrangement of five cubes. The ply tops feature a charred timber finish called shou sugi ban, a traditional Japanese weatherproofing technique. - 2017
Agnes is a clothing stand that holds those clothes that have been worn but are not ready to be washed yet.
Many of us find ourselves with clothes that are neither clean nor dirty; they are in between and our rooms fill with the clothes that often have no home. These clothes are transient beings, free spirited travellers or simply vagrants that exist on your floor, maybe a chair or the back of your door. This project seeks to give these clothes a home.

In collaboration with a local artist Elizabeth Willing, I designed and developed a wall mounted bracket, for the ability to easily arrange and install the artwork at exhibiting galleries. The bracket was to become as invisible as possible, emphasising the artwork as the prominent element. - 2016
